CAMEROON – CHOCOLATIERS ENGAGÉS
A real and honest cacao with a consistent quality from the Central region in Cameroon, characterized by reddish beans with a signature of dried nuts, chocolaty flavor and pleasant woody and spicy notes.

Supply Chain
100% traceable supply chain. Farmers sell wet beans to a central unit, where they are fermented and dried. Manual screening and picking and packing in 60 kg jute bags. Bags are transported to Douala for shipment.
People
75 smallholder farmers benefit directly from higher prices for premium cacao. Being part of “Chocolatiers Engagés“, fair prices are guaranteed for the farmers and cooperative. The cooperative employs 25 people for additional job opportunities.
Forest & Nature
Cacao grows in small-scale agroforestry, and is intercropped with fruit and timber trees. This system promotes biodiversity. Farmers only use organic fertilizers. They are stimulated to minimize pesticide use and trained to utilize organic pest control methods
