PERU – AMAZONAS ORGANIC

Cooperative Norandino works with smallholder farming communities in de Amazonas Department in northern Peru, wedged between the Andean Mountains and the Amazon plain. The farmers are located along the Maranon and Utcubamba River in the provinces of Bagua and Utcumbamba. Through investment in cacao genetics, good agricultural practices and post-harvesting, premium cacao from the Amazonas Department is finding its way to chocolate makers all over the world. Recently cacao from Amazonas received Denomination of Origin status. This signature cacao represents a balanced mild chocoalty profile with tropcial fruits, greenish note and nutty undertone.
